Good People & People of Faith,

This message contains info on:
1. A message from an Australian MP. -- Proposed Family Law Act
2. Your FEEDBACK -- NonViolent Action and Senator Clinton

1. A message from an Australian MP. -- Proposed Family Law Act
---------------------------------------------------------------
A member of the Australian Parliament, Mr. Allen Cadman, sent a reply
to one of our recent messages. We have included the text of his
message below along with some notes on a proposed Family Law Act.

The wording is similar to many other proposed laws, but we ask you to
consider:

How do you pass a Family Law Act without first defining protections in
a Family Rights Act?

The proposed Family Law Act dismisses EQUAL parenting out of hand. It
dismisses EQUAL legal custody of the children when there is
"entrenched conflict" or "domestic violence" between the parents. Are
the two directly related based on statistics? Do not GREAT rights
deserve more protection?

We welcome your feedback to this!

--- Allen Cadman <A.Cadman.MP@aph.gov.au>

> Dear Parent Thank you for telling me about your concerns for the
> role of fathers and the difficulties that occur when marriages break
> up. Having been a member of the committee which investigated the

> The Government has taken decisions about the next step. I know that

> keep an eye on the developments so a re-examination can be
> undertaken in a year or two. This step is the first in a process to
> bring a serious and significant change to family relationships where

> Can I suggest that we carefully observe the proposed changes to the
> legislation. The legislative changes to the Family Law Act will be
> most important. The details written into the law will be critical
> and we need to give a lot of attention to that when the changes come
> before the Parliament. We need to make sure they reflect the views
> of the community, especially fathers.

> For your information I have attached the executive summary of the
> findings of the parliamentary committee and the details of the
> Government's response. Yours sincerely Alan Cadman.

2. Your FEEDBACK -- NonViolent Action and Senator Clinton
----------------------------------------------------------
One of our group members, John Murtari, is currently in jail as part
of a NonViolent Action to get a meeting between members and Senator
Hillary R. Clinton. Complete details are at

... Regarding Hillary. You forgot to mention she is a VERY good
politician and wants to be President. If we can't get enough public
support to convince her Family Reform is important -- what does that
say about the reform effort? We need to 'move' people in this country
to rethink Family rights and I'm sure she'll want to be on the right
side of the issue.

Thanks for the idea of peer review. If you look at our Family Rights
Act, http://www.AKidsRight.Org/act.htm, you will see that we do call
for a jury of our peers. A jury is probably the best method to ensure
your rights are protected.

We could not agree with you more. While letter writing, education,
and petitions are valid methods -- personal action and sacrifice are
also required.

You may have a point. But history shows that NonViolent Action (a
voluntary loving sacrifice) is always meaningful and effective in
bringing change. http://www.AKidsRight.Org/civil_back.htm.
