Parents,
This is John, I have been involved in some quite picketting
for my child -- http://www.kids-right.org/protest_dm.htm
If you want a quick "one page" summary of what I am trying
to accomplish check this letter to New York's Governor,
http://www.kids-right.org/governor_dm.htm
Presently, after about 10 days in Jail, it appears I have won
the "right" to picket daily inside our local Court House and carry
a sign (check first link for details). From the staff "gossip" I have
overheard while walking my circuit in the corridors, it appears
they are waiting for me to get tired and "go away" without
getting media attention. Some express frustration with a Judge
who refuses to hold me in Jail, or issue a direct order prohibiting
my action.
Can really use your help NEXT WEEK (6-10 Dec). If there is any
way you can make a trip to Syracuse to walk with me for even
a few hours that would be great. It would send a powerful
message and probably guarantee news coverage.
The corridors that I walk are on the Family Court Level of the
Court House -- full of people who are in the "system". Many ask
questions.
I wanted to thank many of you who have written to me in
support and share your stories. Even though I consider my
situation "bad", I count myself fortunate in comparison to
what some of you have been through!
John
