Thanks for contribution - always welcome! -------------------------------------------- We want to acknowledge a $25 contribution made by Mr. Mike Ferris of Atlanta, GA (dadnjosh@daad.info). His message was "I'm behind you 100%! Please let me know if I can be of any help. I live in Atlanta, GA. Thank you for all your efforts." To check our "books" or make a donation see: http://www.AKidsRight.Org/donate.htm ---- We got a lot of message with copies of letters or messages that they had been sent to various officials on a wide range of topics. We share those with you below. Regarding Senator Clinton, the goal of "our" efforts is a meeting between parents hurt by the system and the Senator. 2. Your Letter - Dr. Sinkhorn ----------------------------- From: "C. Paul Sinkhorn" <cpaulsinkhorn@earthlink.net> Date: Fri, 3 Jan 2003 16:13:15 -0800 This letter was sent to Senator Clinton 1/3/03. Dear Senator Clinton, Several months ago I wrote to you, but you didn't respond. This is surprising to me, because even Republican congresspeople usually write back. I hope the message simply got misplaced. I have been a long-time supporter of you and your husband, dating back to the days of my OB/GYN residency at University of Arkansas Hospital (1978-1982). I have always believed you to be responsive to family issues and civil rights violations. Thus I am dismayed by your office's failure to respond to some of the important fathers' and children's rights matters currently affecting Mr. John Murtari. Mr. Murtari has made repeated efforts to meet with you or a representative of your office. Now he is facing federal charges for "protesting". I, for one, highly value the right to peacefully protest. I understand that you are busy. Actually, as an OB/GYN and a teacher, I am, too. But I am never too busy to pay attention to citizens being squashed by an unfair system. I urge you to arrange a meeting with Mr. Murtari at your earliest convenience. A child's well-being is at stake. Thank you for your compassion. Best regards, C. Paul Sinkhorn, MD, FACOG 3. Your letter - September Guererri ----------------------------------- From: "September Guererri" <Sguererr@fluids.ittind.com> Date: Tue, 07 Jan 2003 14:43:15 -0600 Hi there. I have faxed 16 pages of letters to Eric per the below information. Att: Eric Woodard [Office of Scheduling, Senator Hillary R. Clinton] Fax: 202-228-0121 Subject: Meet with parents hurt by family law system. Also in this 16 pages, I included previous letters sent to [state] Senator Michael Nozolio's office and to the Judiciary review board over the last year and ½. I will advise if hear anything, and will call in 2 days to check if I don't hear anything by then. In all my previous experiences I have received letters after a month or so. The fax shows all 16 pages were sent through with no problems. Thanks, September Guererri 4. Your letter - Mary Cooper ---------------------------- From: NYLabs4U2@aol.com Subject: Re: Meeting Request sent to Senator Clinton / Events in Canada Date: Fri, 13 Dec 2002 20:58:16 EST How many letters did you get to send to Hillary? I wrote one but was not able to get it to you on time. Were the two you listed the only ones you got? Do you get a lot of e-mails from people? Mary Cooper Verona 5. Your letter - Mary Jo Marceau-Hawthorne ----------------------------------------- From: "Marceau-Hawthorne, Mary Jo [OCDUS]" <MMARCEAU@OCDUS.JNJ.COM> Subject: My letter to the President Date: Wed, 15 Jan 2003 07:37:59 -0500 Any news on the letters sent to Senator Clinton? I sent the following to President Bush: I would like to ask the President, Mrs. Lora Bush, Mr. Tommy Thompson, and other members of our government both federal and state to pray for an end to the Victims of Child Abuse Laws, Victims of Domestic Custody and Family Court Laws and practices that favor one parent over the other to the detriment of the children. I pray every day for Family Court Law reform and CPS/DSS accountability in our system of government. I pray for the Federal government to reaffirm our liberty interests as stated in our 14th amendment rights and as paraphrased by the Supreme Court in many landmark decisions, that every parent has the right to raise, nurture, educate, and have a relationship with their child unless proven to be an unfit parent and that proof should stand the test of a jury of ones peers. If government agencies keep putting families down by unjust practices, families will stay down and our country will suffer. May God help us to strengthen our families by everyone doing their best to abolish abuse in our system of government because only by cleaning our own house can we help others. Mary Jo Marceau-Hawthorne 6. Your letter - Dr. Hatfield (to the Editor) --------------------------------------------- Dr. Malcolm Hatfield has had good luck in getting a couple of letters published in a Wisconsin Paper. Links follow: * http://www.AKidsRight.Org/images/hatfield2.jpg * http://www.AKidsRight.Org/images/hatfield3.jpg You can read his full story at: http://www.AKidsRight.Org/shame3.htm#hatfield 7. Clinton Update - Legal Help ----------------------------- There has been a delay in updating the web site with what has been happening in the effort to petition Senator Clinton for reform in Syracuse, NY. There was an appearance by John Murtari in front of Federal Magistrate DiBianco last Wednesday, Jan 15th, regarding an arraignment on a past arrest, and scheduling a Contempt Hearing. For past details see the site at http://www.AKidsRight.Org/actionc_syr (a partial update follows). More details in a message later this week. John can "really" use some help with the following. You can see copies of most legal documents and the appeal at the link above: 1. An attorney who may be able to represent him at minimal cost in the US District Court in Syracuse. 2. Help with Federal Procedure? In a bench trial in Federal Court, what type of precedent is there for a Judge failing to return a verdict (or enter a verdict) on some counts after the trial is completed. [In John's case the Judge found him guilty on the last two counts, but in the "verdict form" did not check guilty or not guilty for the first two.] 3. Assumed validity of an Order? John's first defense in the Contempt hearing will be that he was there to "petition" his Member of Congress, and not to "protest, march, demonstrate, or picket." One item which also needs to be addressed is the "assumed validity of a Judge's order" -- is there any case law which supports questioning that validity when an order presents a clear violation of a person's "rights?" ================================================================== To unsubscribe from this list at anytime, send email to Majordomo@kids-right.org with the following 1 line in the BODY of the message (Subject is ignored). unsubscribe members
